Hi, All. I’m putting together a list of people interested in hearing about my Ariadne Writer’s Studio software; I’ll be sending out a small number of irregular emails explaining where it’s at, what it can do, and where you can get betas and demos and such.
If you’re interested in getting free author’s software, or are interested in shaping it’s development, either leave me a comment with your email (which I’ll delete once I’ve noted it) or send me an email at the usual steve-at-stevecooper-dot-org address. The offer will be open about a week. Feel free to spread the word to author mates…

Hi Steve! Ta muchly for the cd – I’m planning on sitting down to play this evening. ๐ Much anticipation! So it goes without saying you can put me down for this. Or it would, if I hadn’t said it anyway… *grin* You have my email address, I believe.
Me Me Me. I want to play with Steve Write! [Does it run on linux though? I bet it doesn’t.]
Linux? I’m afraid we only cater to respectible computers here, sir. ๐
I’ll put you on the list. Thanks!
I’d be interested in playing, too, but I don’t own any Windows machines.
Might be able to help with a Linux port at some point.
I don’t have your email address — can you send it over?
I’m looking, very vaguely, at a mono port for mac os x and linux, but not for a long while. Thanks for the interest!
Contact details sent separately.
What’s it currently written in?
Got the details – cheers.
It’s vb.net, xml, bits of java, and some components I’ve bought.
Huzzah! Still want to try a working version…
Cool. I’ve put you on the mailing list.
May not work, my anti-spam is equipped with ninjas carrying automatic weapons…
Ooh! Ooh! Please sir! Me sir!!

Thanks :))
Consider yourself in. Nice horns ๐
Thanks. For the prog and the horns comment ๐ Have you noticed how if you look closely though, I have the eyes of a verrrry drunk person? There’s a reason for that – that reason is Bombay Sapphire. ๐
Anyway, are you looking for wider people to test this out (socially, rather than size of arse)? Cos if so, I’m taking a creative writing class at Sheffield Uni at the moment, and could spread the word if you like? The course is mainly focused around short fiction, which is obviously not that relevant for this prog, but most fo the people on it are interested in novel writing etc. If you ever want more testers etc. let me know. ๐
Now that you mention it… there is a certain look of intensity, as though standing up requires all available resources.
D’you reckon your gang would like a demo and an after-class drink somewhere? I may be better off getting it to a decent quality with you guys, then selling it to them ๐
Out of interest, d’you know how many people there are taking similar courses? I have a feeling there are a lot of these courses out there, but don’t know any numbers at all…
I’ll have a word and see what they fancy – it’s a bit of an oddly mixed group; some “proper” students, some people desperately clutching on to their youth and pretending they’re still students (me) and then a range of non-uni people up to OAPs.
In terms of how many similar course are out there, I think most uni’s that have Institutes of Lifelong Learning run creative writing courses; certainly both the uni’s in Sheffield run several. I’ll see what I can find out.
Your horns belie your angelic nature. Thanks loads. I’m putting together a questionaire at the moment… maybe I could get you to pass some out?
I am a cheeky monkey, I know.
I’m in: Rhube13@yahoo.co.uk – not taht you didn’t already know that.
I’ll also link ot this from my journal, as many writing peops read it.
thanks loads, rosie. You’re on!

Nice to hear from you again! you’re on the list.
A message from Jo (who has no lj account, and who found she could not post as anonymous):
She’s v. interested and wants to know if you have teh creative Ink email address? She also says you’re welcome to come along to Creative INk to ask questions. (the next meeting is next wednesday (17th) btw – hence the yet-another-post-ponement-of-THING).
I’ve got the creative, ink! email address – is that the one she wants to be subscribed on? Or her queen jo hotmail address? I’ll subscribe both for the mo.
She didn’t say – but both is probably the best way.
Hi I’m one of Rhube’s very odd friends, and I’d be interested ๐ mfp102@york.ac.uk
gotcha!
